How do I know my child will be safe & secure?

* We feel that we have put in place stringent safety procedures and our risk assessments are effective in keeping the children safe & secure whilst at pre-school. Our recruitment and induction process ensures the suitability of all adults looking after the children and references are always checked before a position is offer. All staff are CRB checked and students on placements and helping parents do not have unsupervised access to the children at any time. We carry out daily risk assessments of the premises and equipment both indoors & outside, including the kitchen area where snacks are prepared, and these are monitored and reviewed regularly

* Children are signed in and out of the setting and a password system is operated to ensure that children only leave the setting with authorised adults.

* We continually monitor all our safety policies & procedures to ensure that we maintain the highest standards of safeguarding children in our setting.

Will my child have the opportunity to play outside?

* Children have all year round access to the outside play area in all weathers as part of our continuous provision. We ask that children wear a suitable coat in the cold weather and that you provide a pair of wellies – we provide a red boot bag for these to be brought in every day. The children need wellies during the summer months as well to use the digging area - we do have a small supply of spare ones available should they forget them. We also have waterproof capes for the children to wear in wet weather. Children are supervised at all times when using the outside play area.

What food & drink will be available?

* We operate a café style snack bar each day where the children have a choice of milk or water to drink and a choice of at least two healthy snacks. A note of what the snack will be that day can be found on the notice board in the main hall.

* Fresh drinking water is freely available to the children during the session.

* Those children staying to lunch club bring their own packed lunch.
