I am a professional Maternity Nurse with a wealth of experience gained over 20 years. During this time I have had the pleasure and privilege to work with over 100 newborn babies both in the UK and abroad, often returning for the second and third child.

My child care career began shortly after I left school. I  worked first as a mother’s help to a baby and toddler and then nanny to twins born 2 months prematurely. I then trained as a nurse, after which I travelled to work in America, as a nanny, where I took care of 3 children, who were under 6 years old.

On my return to UK I cared for a baby from birth as a nanny.  Having gained such invaluable experience over several years I was then able to go on and specialise as a Maternity Nurse.

I continue to update my knowledge and skills on a regular basis. I am fully CRB checked and hold an up to date 1st Aid Certificate. My Full CV and client references are available on request..

My Experience includes:- care of single babies and twins.

Support for parents following: -  natural birth, caesarean section, and adoption,

Support for mothers suffering with Post Natal Depression, or anxiety, exhaustion and following bereavement.

Help and guidance to enable mothers to breastfeed successfully, and to solve early feeding difficulties, such as clearing blocked ducts, increasing milk supply, coping with growth spurts, expressing, mixed feeding etc.

Sleep advice and training. Tackling issues such as: -  routine planning, normal sleep patterns, introducing self settling techniques.

Troubleshooting/problem solving - including successfully reducing episodes of colic.. Adjusting nocturnal waking patterns to help the baby understand the difference between night and day, establishing more settled night time sleep.

In my experience a short period of Maternity Care followed by a period of night support can reduce the effects of sleep deprivation, anxiety and post natal depression, enabling parents to bond successfully with their baby.
